At about the age of 2, children spend more time in the room known as the ‘Bears,’ moving onto the ‘Butterflies’ around the time of their third birthday.
Many children in these two rooms enjoy regular sessions with our dance teacher, as well as the more familiar nursery activities such as sand and water play, role play, the creative corner and computer games. We encourage outdoor play all year round, and include children in the tending of our nursery vegetable patch.
The government issues guidelines on the way nurseries care for children, known as Birth to Three Matters and Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage. Whatever your child is doing at nursery, you can be assured that staff are constantly working within these frameworks.
